Should you visit Florence or Venice?

Florence and Venice are two popular destinations in Italy. But if you had to choose one, which city would it be?

Both cities are renowned for its art and architecture. Where Florence masters renaissance art, Venice combines a mixture of periodic styles.

Art and architecture

It's impossible not to find crowds in Florence or Venice. However, with Venice, there are quarters where you can escape the masses.

The crowds

Florence is the classic Italian city while Venice is by the water. Both unique in their own way, decide which landscape you'd like to see more. 

The location

It's impossible to run out of things to do when visiting Florence or Venice. Fill your itinerary with museums in Florence or stop by the many baroque churches in Venice.

The attractions

Venetians tend to have a reputation for being more closed while Florentines are said to be more open. This is a subjective opinion and one you need to find out for yourself.
