In the province of Veneto in northern Italy is the quiet town of Soave.
Famous for its wine, Soave Classico, the town has more to offer than just its delicious export.
Catch your breath as you first lay eyes on Soave's medieval walls. Dating to the 14th century, they're quite an impressive sight.
Soave has 3 main entrances to reach its town center.
They are Porta Verona, Porta Vicentina and Porta Aquila. Most people enter through Porta Verona.
Once inside, you meet the main road of Via Roma. It's lined with pretty houses, shops and bars.
Also located on this road is Soave's main church, the Duomo di San Lorenzo.
Its simple exterior is slightly misleading as inside is one of the most beautiful ceilings I've seen in Italy.
As you reach the end of Via Roma, you meet Piazza dell'Antenna. Its namesake palace is today an enoteca called Il Drago.
From the piazza, make your way up to the castle, Castello Scaligero di Soave.
The views from the top are worth the climb, plus you get to see the vineyards that Soave is most known for.
