Delicious things to eat during Carnival in Venice

The second Christmas ends in Italy, the shelves become filled with even more delicious treats for Carnevale.

Sweet pastries you can only find during Carnival in Venice, if you spot these pastries make sure to try one.

Frittelle

A classic food at Carnevale, frittelle are Venetian doughnuts filled with delicious fillings like cream raisins or zabaglione. Visit Venice

'Frittelle can range in size from bite size to a larger shaped ball.'

Crostoli

No carnevale in Venice is complete without sampling a few crostoli. These carnival fritters are simple to make but very delicious. Eat Italy

'Crostoli can be baked or fried. The fried version comes with a naughty sprinkling of sugar on top.'

Fried desserts are easily the forefront of the Venice Carnival. While they won't be the healthiest or lightest choices, they are part of the Carnevale experience.
