While there are no rules set in stone, here are some traveler tips on things not to do in Italy.

The popular coffee drink, latte, doesn't exist in Italy. Order one at the bar and prepare to get a glass of milk.

Don't order a latte

Some of the larger cathedrals in Italy may ask you to cover bare shoulders. Instead, dress accordingly and avoid encountering this issue. 

Dress appropriately

Many Italians will frown at the idea of Parmigiano on any type of fish dish. The two flavors just don't mesh well.

No cheese on fish

It's easy to be in full vacation mode when in Italy. But, don't let your guard down and be aware of potential scams around you.

Beware of scams

Avoid paying for smaller items, like a coffee, with a credit card. Instead, always have some cash to hand especially in more rural parts.
