Walking into the Flemings Mayfair Hotel London lobby at first glance looks like any other.
Friendly and accommodating staff to welcome you, immaculate interiors, and a floor so shiny you can spot your own reflection.
This London luxury boutique hotel ticks all the boxes, and these 5 good reasons will outline why.

The history
On second, and third glance, this hotel offers luxury accommodation and in striking decor. Flemings Mayfair Hotel was refurbished in 2016, and the proof is in the detail.
Thirteen Georgian townhouses transformed into one hotel, Flemings Mayfair offers 129 luxury rooms varying in size and cost. On top of that, there are also 1, 2, or 3-bedroom luxury suites that guests can book.
The building dates to the 17th century. During the refurbishment, many details from the period were reinstated to fit in with the hotel’s contemporary feel.
The hotel’s also a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and it isn’t hard to see why.
The area
Flemings Mayfair Hotel is in one of the plushest, and safest, neighborhoods in London. From here, it’s around a 5-minute walk to some of the best attractions in the city.
Green Park is around 2-minutes on foot. For those who like to shop, the tempting Bond Street is just around the corner. Here, you’ll find all the big designer brands — and big price tags to match.
The rooms at Flemings Mayfair Hotel
Deluxe Double
The first thing that hits you upon entering the Flemings Mayfair Deluxe Double room*, is the warm and inviting décor. There are 3 color schemes for the double deluxe rooms: gold, teal and navy, and I struck the jackpot with the former.
Given its recent refurbishment, the detail to attention is impeccable. From the queen-sized bed with hand-stitched mattress, to the en-suite bathroom with Elemis products, nothing’s amiss.
Other notable details include the retro bedside Tivoli radio, and the super useful electrical sockets with UK, US and EU functionality. Breakfast isn’t included in the price of the room, but can be added if requested.
Other room features
Some ground-level rooms do have a small patio, so be sure to ask before booking if you want this option. Though at street level, the room’s very quiet, and I wasn’t disturbed by any outside noise.
There’s a Nespresso machine hidden away in the fold-out cabinet, along with tea, and of course the luring minibar.
If you do stay in a Deluxe Double, look out for the cool artwork in the room. Flemings Mayfair commissioned renowned photographer Andy Gotts MBE for a series of celebrity shoots that took place in the hotel.

Flemings Mayfair one-bedroom suite
Any visitors traveling in a larger group may want to consider booking one of the sumptuous luxury suites. The 1-bedroom suite’s* ideal for 4 people, and really feels like you’re walking into your own home.
Visitors staying at the suites have a private entrance, but are also able to enter through the hotel’s main doors. Keep an eye out for the quirky design of aged books inside the elevator to the suites. It’s one of many features that was kept from the old building.
Upon entering the suite, it doesn’t have that stiff ‘hands off’ feel. Instead, it’s easy to kick off your shoes and relax. The suite has its own kitchen and living/dining area. Gin lovers will be thrilled to see a mini gin bar in the kitchen, stocking only the finest brands.
The bedroom at Flemings Mayfair Hotel
It gets bigger and better as you head into the bedroom. Mine was a fusion of teals and blues, that embrace the king-sized bed in the center.
Like the Deluxe Double rooms, each apartment has its own color scheme and character. As evident from the photos, I’d a hard time moving from the humongous-sized bed. Continue to the bathroom, and you’ll pass your very own dressing area, complete with dresser and mirror.
The bathroom’s generous in size, with both a bathtub and a rainforest-style shower. All suites are fully serviced, and guests have full use to the hotel’s facilities.
Manetta’s Bar
Tucked away behind the excellent Ormer restaurant on the lower ground floor is Manetta’s Bar. As if walking straight into the glamorous 1930s, it’s the perfect setting for an intimate drink.
Unique drinks
It goes without saying that you’ve to try one of their cocktails. A work of art in a glass, and using top quality spirits and produce, it’s unmissable. On my visit, I tried the sweetly named ‘A rose is a rose is a rose’.
Tip: if you don’t know what to choose, start with the Signature Cocktail list; there’s plenty of good choices on there.
Ormer Mayfair
Don’t miss an opportunity to dine at the hotel’s fabulous restaurant, Ormer Mayfair.
Michelin-star chef, Shaun Rankin, offers diners a true taste of the British Isles, and the results are mouthwatering. Items naturally change according to season, but trust me when I say, you won’t leave hungry.
On top of that, the service from the staff is outstanding. Flemings Mayfair Hotel may at present have 4 stars, but I can see that changing to 5 very soon.
Additional amenities
If you’re in the mood for something lighter, or would like to book an afternoon tea, you’ll love The Drawing Room.
An inviting place with 3m high ceilings, sash windows and original marble fireplace, it reflects the building’s Georgian past.
Menu items include the popular Beatrix Potter afternoon tea (set menu), as well as staple favorites such as burgers and sandwiches.
Above all, the Drawing Room’s a spot where you can sink back into the comfort of the velvet sofa, and just enjoy.

Looks like a very vibrant luxury hotel. Loved the work done after the renovation.
It’s a stunning hotel!
The hotel looks so grand! I am always fond of these old buildings. The rooms look cosy and really have that ‘kick your shoes and relax’ feel. Exudes luxury and comfort in each of the rooms.
Fleming’s Mayfair definitely has that feel at home vibe, though a luxury hotel. Hope you get to visit one day!
