12 best Milan hotels with Duomo views
Last updated on December 31st, 2025.
The Italian city of Milan, and its incredible cathedral (Duomo di Milano), draw in hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
Holding the title of the largest church in Italy the cathedral deserves every iota of attention.
And what better way to make your trip to Milan more memorable than by waking up to a Duomo view.
In this post, I'll be sharing 12 of the best Milan hotels with Duomo views.
While some offer a direct view from the bedroom, others are just steps away from the Duomo.
This guide shares similarities to the post I wrote on the best Rome hotels with a Colosseum view.
If it’s your first-time visiting Milan, don’t forget to check out my Milan travel tips. It’s a useful resource that’ll help you plan your Italy trip right.
Why visit Milan Duomo?
Milan Cathedral is a striking gothic cathedral located in the heart of Milan.
The third-largest church in the world, it covers an area of 12,000SM and can accommodate up to 40,000 people.
Unsurprisingly, the Duomo di Milano is an attraction that features on many people's Italy bucket list.
Construction began in 1386, but it was completed over 500 years later in 1965. The cathedral's facade is made of white marble, and its spires, statues, and intricate carvings are mesmerizing in person.
Its interior is equally impressive, with brilliant stained-glass windows, ornate altars and a gleaming golden altarpiece.
Milan’s Duomo is also home to several important artworks. They include Marco d'Agrate’s marble statue of Saint Bartholomew and a painting of the Crucifixion by Giovanni Battista Crespi.
Why should you tour Milan’s Duomo?
Undeniably, one of the Duomo’s best features is its rooftop terrace. We booked skip-the-line tickets to tour the Duomo and to climb to the top.
I guarantee it’s one of the best things to do in Milan and one you should consider booking yourself.
At the top, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of Milan, and on a good day, the surrounding Alps. Take the stairs or the elevator to the top to see the towers, spires, and statues up close.
Today, the Duomo di Milano doesn’t just represent one of Italy's most popular tourist attractions. It also stands as a symbol of Milan's rich history and culture.
12 best Milan hotels with Duomo views
1. Amabilia Suites Milano
Facing onto Piazza Duomo and the fabulous cathedral is Amabilia Suites Milano. Inside are 4 suites located on the top floor of Palazzo Carminati, a building dating to the 19th century.
Each room at Amabilia Suites Milano is decorated in a style that evokes the elegance and flair associated with Milan.
Step inside
Wake up to unrivalled views of the Milan Duomo by booking the exquisite Montenapoleone Suite.
Comfortably sleeping 2 people, the suite’s window faces directly onto the gothic cathedral. Other facilities include complimentary WiFi, natural bath products and a Nespresso coffee machine.
The suite’s named after one of Milan’s most luxurious spots: Via Monte Napoleone. Together with Via Manzoni, Via della Spiga and Corso Venezia, they make up Milan’s famous, and expensive, shopping quarter.
Breakfast isn’t included at Amabilia Suites Milano but this isn’t a problem. Given its location in Milan’s center, there are plenty of good places to get a good Italian breakfast.
What makes Amabillia Suites Milano one of the best Milan hotels with Duomo views is the price. It’s not as high as you might expect for this area of Milan.
However, I wouldn’t recommend it for travelers on a budget. There’s other budget-friendly accommodation outside the center that will be better suited.
The independent hotel also has a location in Venice, the equally fabulous Amabilia Venezia.

2. The Glamore Milano Duomo
Enjoy the views of Milan Duomo from your private terrace at The Glamore Milano Duomo.
Milan’s only luxury hotel in Piazza Duomo (Duomo Square), the location really doesn’t get any better.
There are several room types available at The Glamore Milano Duomo. They include:

- Suite Duomo View Balcony – sleeps 3 people
- Deluxe Suites Duomo View Balcony – 4 people
Best Milan Duomo views
As the names suggest, 3 of the 4 room types offer views of Milan’s Duomo from the bedroom or terrace.
The Deluxe Suites Duomo View Balcony is the largest and the most luxurious of the rooms. Overlooking the Duomo and piazza, wake up to a delicious breakfast and an unbeatable view.
With brand new furnishings and décor that reflect the beauty and elegance of modern Milan, it’s luxurious yet unpretentious.
The Glamore Milano Duomo is in the same building as Terrazza Duomo 21 restaurant. It's ideal for having an aperitivo in Milan before going for dinner. Granted it’s pricier than having drinks outside the city center, but it’s worth it for just one night.
Perfect for luxury travelers looking for where to stay in Milan, The Glamore Milano Duomo is one of the best Milan hotels with Duomo views.

5. SCF Collection – Duomo
Simple, clean accommodation overlooking the Duomo doesn’t get any better than SCF Collection – Duomo.
While the hotel calls itself a ‘boutique hotel’ I’d classify it more as an aparthotel. Inside each apartment is a kitchen, dining area, WiFi and toiletries.
To ensure you get a room with a Duomo view book the ‘Suite with City view’. The other room type available only has an internal view.
There’s no breakfast in SCF Collection – Duomo but there are tons of places to get some nearby. Alternatively, you can buy breakfast items and keep them in the apartment’s kitchen.

8. STRAF Hotel & Bar
The historic façade of STRAF Hotel Milan is misleading to what awaits inside.
With 64 rooms and suites embracing hi-tech functionality and modern design, it’s one of the best Milan hotels with Duomo views.
Situated on the top floor, the Suites and Junior Suites are your best bet for a Duomo view. Overlooking the cathedral’s spires, the suites come with a king bed, private terrace and ample living space.

A final notable mention is the hotel’s H20 Wellness Centre. Intimate, calming and contemporary, the addition makes STRAFhotel one of the best Milan hotels with Duomo views.

9. Room Mate Giulia
How does a boutique design hotel housed in a 19th century historical building sound? It's the setting of the fabulous Room Mate Giulia, a hotel that combines modern living with vintage décor.
The boutique hotel has 85 rooms, each of which embrace the elements of the region. For instance, the pink tones used throughout reflect the traditional terracotta bricks found in Lombardy.
A stone’s throw away
Rooms at Room Mate Giulia don’t have a direct view overlooking Milan’s Duomo but don’t let that put you off.
With the cathedral just 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel, it’s easily one of the best hotels near the Duomo.
Design features in the room include touch lighting, a magnifying mirror and furniture designed by Spanish industrial designer Patricia Urquiola.
A wide breakfast range — including detox juices, sweet or savory items — is served until noon. It’s great news if you’re a late riser.
An affordable hotel in Milan’s city center, Room Mate Giulia is one to consider booking.
Room Mate Giulia, Via Silvio Pellico, 4
10. Maison Milano | UNA Esperienze
Luxury and elegance overlooking the Duomo di Milano is the strapline at Maison Milano | UNA Esperienze.
Inside the boutique hotel there are 27 rooms in total, of which there are 4 available room types. They are:
- Superior room
- Deluxe room
- Junior Suite
- Suite
All rooms come with amenities like WiFi, minibar and bespoke toiletries. What differentiates the suites from the other rooms is the size. Both suites have ample living space, making it ideal for larger groups or families.
One feature I particularly like about Maison Milano | UNA Esperienze is that breakfast is served in your room.
The hotel also takes into consideration any dietary concerns and will make breakfast to suit your needs.
While the rooms don’t directly overlook Milan’s Duomo or the square, it’s an easy, breezy 2-minute walk from the hotel.

11. Sina the Gray
Located just 100m from the Duomo di Milano, there’s no chance of missing Sina the Gray.
With a striking art nouveau façade, the hotel was designed by some of Italy’s best architects and designers.
Inside are 21 rooms and suites, with a décor that embellishes modern design and natural living.
Bright light, beautiful design — best Milan hotels with Duomo views
Room types range from City double rooms all the way to the Executive Junior Suite. Personally, I’d book to stay in the Gallery room. It sleeps 2 people, and as its name suggests, the room overlooks the magnificent Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
Where the suites surpass the standard rooms are not just in size but also in detail. The Junior Suite is set out on 2 levels and is fitted with a Turkish bath. Not a bad way to end your day in Milan.
The Executive Junior Suite on the other hand has 2 connecting bedrooms, queen-size beds and a fitness corner. Accommodating 5 guests, it’s a good choice for families or for anyone traveling in larger groups.
During the warmer months, enjoy the sunshine and the shisha lounge on Terrazza Aria. Enjoy an aperitivo at the hotel’s G Bar before heading for dinner in its signature Le Noir restaurant.
One of the best hotels near the Duomo in Milan, consider adding Sina the Gray to your ‘maybe’ list.
Sina the Gray, Via S. Raffaele, 6
12. Galleria Altido-Boutique Aparthotel
Located just moments away from the Duomo di Milano is the Galleria Altido-Boutique Aparthotel.
One of the best hotels near the Duomo in Milan, wake up to incredible views of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. The ALTIDO Family GalleriaSuite is the best option to book to enjoy an up-close view.
In the morning, Galleria Altido-Boutique Aparthotel can book breakfast at the historic Savini. Located next to the aparthotel’s entrance, enjoy breakfast in an institution that dates to 1867.

We’ve never stayed in Milan so it’s nice to see this post for when we do plan a visit 🙂
That's great, I really hope you visit one day!
I will have to add Milan onto my list of places to post when we get to Italy We will be going to Sicily as we have family there and may have to stop by Milan to check it out while we are there. Thank you for the recommendations!
That's great to know! Let me know if you need any Sicily tips too, we return each summer
These Milano pictures are stunning! The architecture is breathtaking. Your story and travels are truly unique.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
We're actually considering Rosa Grand Milano. It's highly recommended by friends because of its superb location. Will take your advice to either book the Deluxe Duomo Suite or the Panoramic Junior. Happy to know they included an Illy coffee machine.
I'm glad to hear that, it's a superb choice in Milano.
Duomo de Milano is undeniably one of the best tourist spots in Milan with its Gothic architecture style with tall spires and each of these hotels give a spectacular view of the cathedral. Though the Amabilia suites are expensive, they offer stunning views of the Dumo but I would rather go for a budget friendly option like the Od Sweet Duomo Milano with its sweet chocolate, pink and marshmallow tones and a corner serving treats and breakfast with views.Even the AHD rooms, Sina the Grey with its art nouveau architecture and signature dining, Strafhotel, with authentic dining experience, Room Mate Giulia with its detox juices and savory treats and boutique setting. And definitely I would love to experience the chromatherapy shower at Od Sweet Duomo or AHD.
Also the concept of Aparthotel is completely new to me, so would not want to miss the opportunity at the Galleria Altido Boutique Aparthotel with its unique breakfast setting and views of Galleria Vittorio Emmanuel.
There are great options to wake up to the Milan Duomo here 🙂
I always found Miland a bit 'unitalian' 😉 but there are aspects that I like a lot - like for instance the amazing aperitivo-culture, the best in all of Italy if you ask me. Also, I love the roof top of the Duomo and the amazing art museums. I spent two weeks in Milan learning Italian, hence, I stayed with an Italian lady. Therefore, it's interesting to read about hotels in the city.
Milan has a 'colder' reputation to it than other cities so I understand that. Aperitivo and apericena here is truly great!
This is a great article . I haven't been to Milan and to have a Duomo vuew would be superbe. I love the Glamore! Sounds the best!
Thank you, the Glamore is a good choice
Ah, Milan is beautiful. And one must certainly visit the Duomo as it is incredibly intricate and amazing. When we visited we even walked on the roof and saw the best views of Milan. I don't think it is the largest church in Italy, though, because the St. Peter Basilica in Rome is the largest in the world! Love your selection of hotel options, however!
Well technically, the basilica is in Vatican but you of course enter in Rome 🙂 I'm glad you like the selections!
These are some beautiful hotels you suggested. Can’t wait to visit Milan
Thank you. Visit us soon here
I've never seen a place like this before! I appreciate you sharing your photos with us. It feels like I am there too.
I'm glad you enjoyed them!
It's a great selection of hotels in Milan overlooking the Duomo. This is one of my favorite European cathedrals, so I would love to watch it from my hotel room windows. I spent a few days in Milan and admired the cathedral's architecture every day for a few hours. From your list, I'd love to stay at The Glamore Milano Duomo and take an evening wine at Terrazza Duomo 21 restaurant. Also, SCF Collection – Duomo seems a good choice as the view is stunning. I hope to return to Milan and choose something from your recommendations.
Thanks Agnes, I'm happy you'd consider those places, they are all fantastic!
The Maison Milano hotel sounds like a great option. A suite would be a great option as it would be nice and roomy. I love the sound of breakfast in bed. Sounds like it's well located.
It's a great choice and just steps away from the Duomo!
The cathedral is stunning! My goodness what beautiful views and locations. Milan is more beautiful than I could have imagined.
It really is incredible to see and better in person 😀
The view is so important to me when selecting a hotel. I love being able to see the city when visiting, even when we are too exhausted to go out.
That's a great point! Many of the hotels on the list have the Duomo right outside the bedroom window
I would love to spend a few weeks exploring this gorgeous city, Milan!!! This summer I hope!!!
I hope so too!
The magic of Milan Duomo is all its spires and to be able to see it from the hotel's window would be awesome. Thanks much for this! I will bookmark it for my next trip to Milan. Glamore Milano Duomo would be my top choice. Nothing can beat a private terrace with a view of the duomo. Good to know that Townhouse is lgbtq and pet friendly.
The Glamore is a great choice and it's brand new too 😀
Milan is such a place to visit. I will definitely stay in one of these hotels when I go to Milan.
I'm happy to read that!
Milan is one of those places I have never been to but I would love to as Italy is one of my favourite countries to visit and explore. And if you can get a hotel with beautiful views then that's a winner x
I agree! I hope you return again soon
Gosh, Milan looks so lovely and that cathedral is beautiful. Thank you for all of your tips on hotels, I would certainly love to visit one day.
I hope you do, Milano is wonderful
We had a very quick visit to the Milan Duomo when we visited. But know we want to go back on a return visit. We missed both the inside and the view from the top. Getting a hotel with a Duomo view might make it even more special. Great to know there are hotels with views and some of them also have restaurant patios with views. Definitely keeping this list for our return.
I'm happy to hear that! It really is an amazing attraction in Milan
Definitely stunning, awesome views. Thanks for recommending..
The Duomo is really spectacular
Both the interior and exterior architecture of Milan Duomo are incredibly stunning, making it a must-see! Since most vacationers prefer hotels with breathtaking views, picking the hotel where you'll stay is crucial. I greatly applaud you for offering to share these 13 accommodations with a gorgeous view of the cathedral. For those considering a trip to Milan, this is hugely beneficial.
Thank you Maria, I'm glad you found this post useful 😀
Thanks for sharing those hotels! They are truly beautiful and elegant.

I hope you consider staying at one of these Duomo view hotels
Wow! There is so much information here to plan a fabulous trip to this area.
I'm glad to hear you found it useful 🙂
These are such unique hotels, definitely a great experience to stay in. I don’t know if we’d be in our room for too much of the time, but a nice cozy room to come back to after a long day of sightseeing is so necessary
I understand that 🙂 It's something to consider
Waking up to a fantasitc view is always a plus when staying somewhere new! Thank you for all of these suggestions.
You're welcome, I hope you consider booking here if you visit Milan 🙂
Thanks for sharing! I'm definitely adding Milan to my bucket list
That's great! You will enjoy it I'm sure
I have yet to see a place in italy that doesn't take my breath away! What a stunning tour though Milan! Oh how I'd love to visit one day 😀
I hope you do, it's really an incredible attraction in Milan
The Catherdal sounds like it would be really beautiful and definitely something I'd love to go see. It's great that there is a lovely hotel with family rooms close enough that you can get a good view of it and some of the city.
There are a few close by the Duomo that cater to families. It's definitely worth seeing!
My family would love to visit the Milan Suite Hotel. They have spacious family rooms and suites that can accommodate up to 4 people, and some of their rooms have stunning views of the Duomo. Additionally, they offer complimentary breakfast and have a rooftop terrace where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city.
That's a good choice for Milan. It's big enough for your family and right by the Duomo too 🙂
This is incredible - and as if you read the questions in my mind. If the Milan Duomo is worth visiting and where to stay ! I thoroughly enjoyed your photos, it shows the best sights of the elegant city. I am going to be checking out the multiple options for stays that you have narrowed down here. Thank you for this post.
Thank you Adele, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. The Duomo really is worth seeing and going all the way to the top! Waking up to the views is just the icing on the cake 😀
We have always dreamed of visiting Milan. This article is a good resource for hotel choices. I am bookmarking it for reference. Who knows, 2023 might be the year our travel dreams come true!
I really hope so Eileen, it's really a city to see in Italy
I've never been to Milan, this is such a gorgeous city, I love it! I would love to explore it next, can't wait.
I hope you visit too.
I have visited the Duomo when I visited Milano, a very long time ago. I however did not go to the rooftop. I also didn't stay anywhere near it, as it was so expensive. I remember that my hotel was somewhere closer to the train station. I would however like to treat myself at some point, return and stay in one of these beautiful hotels. I can only imagine waking up, opening the window, and seeing this beautiful cathedral in front of me.
I can understand that. Some of the aparthotels on the list aren't so bad 🙂 It also depends on the season in which you visit.
All of these hotels sound lovely, and you can't beat their views! This is a great list.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it
